Terms of Service
Last updated September 6, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Riff when you use the Riff iOS app or tryriff.site. By creating an account or using Riff you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Riff.
Who can use Riff
You must be at least 13 years old. If you’re under the age where you can agree to terms like these where you live, a parent or guardian has to agree for you. You’re responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in secure.
Your music is yours
You own what you record, upload and publish on Riff. So that Riff can work, you give us a licence to host, store, process (for example, mastering and rendering), stream and display your content, and to show it to other users when you publish it. This licence exists only to run Riff and ends when you delete the content or your account, except as described below.
Publishing a sample makes it public: anyone using Riff, and anyone with a share link, can play it, save it, comment on it and share it. Where Riff lets other musicians build a layer on your published sample, you allow them to do that, and the result may stay available to them after you delete your account, with your name removed.
You must have the rights to what you publish. Don’t upload music, recordings or images that belong to someone else without permission.
Community rules
Riff is for people who make and love music. Keep it that way:
- No harassment, hate, threats or targeting of other people.
- No sexual content involving minors, and no sexually explicit content.
- No spam, scams, impersonation or misleading claims.
- No content that infringes someone else’s copyright or other rights.
- No attempts to break, overload or reverse engineer Riff, or to access accounts or data that aren’t yours.
You can report content or block people from inside the app. We review reports and remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules. Repeat or serious violations end the account.
Copyright complaints
If you believe content on Riff infringes your copyright, email fasai.phl@gmail.com with the content’s link, a description of the work, your contact details and a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn’t authorised. We take down infringing content and may terminate repeat infringers.
Riff’s content and software
The Riff app, website, name, design and any sounds or samples we provide are ours or licensed to us. You may use them within Riff as intended; you may not copy, sell or redistribute them outside Riff.
Changes to Riff
Riff is early and changes often. We may add, change or remove features, and we may suspend or stop the service. We’ll try to give notice for anything that affects your content, and you can always export or delete what’s yours.
No warranty
Riff is provided as is. We don’t promise it will always be available, error-free or that your content will never be lost, so keep your own copies of recordings that matter to you.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Riff and the people who run it aren’t liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any amount greater than what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which, while Riff is free, is nothing).
Ending things
You can delete your account at any time from your page in the app. We can suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms. Sections about your content licence for published work others built on, copyright, warranty and liability survive termination.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the courts located there, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll update the date at the top and let you know in the app. Continuing to use Riff after that means you accept the new terms.
